So since I couldn't post on the thesis page i'm putting it on here. This is where I'm at now, was supposed to do a sketch render and it turned to this. I did change the concept from having windows to an inner surface to something with more substance. This is really close to a proportion I'd like (possibly more glass). I also have ideas for hidden rear wheel and simplified body side, so I will post those soon, just wanted some thoughts on the form and how it's working.
I have absolutely no idea what you'll be graded on etc... but if I were able to own this car I'd drive it every day. Your drawings are as amazing as ever.
ReplyDeleteadded you to thesis blog. my bad on that
ReplyDeletethanks, i swore you did back when you started it, but ill be able to post from now on
DeleteIt's gnarly for sure. I like the direction of the glass and body language relationship. I feel like there is a little bit of disconnect between the front and rear. Front has some wavy organic surfaces happening and the rear doesn't really have any of that flavor. Also, the way the front fender flares up towards the front is a bit uneasy for me.
ReplyDeleteyeah I still have yet to resolve the fascias, this render is mainly about the body side. I think I'll have to bring in more carbon fiber in those areas since that's a substantial part of what makes Pagani a Pagani
DeleteThe contrast between the body and greenhouse is working for me. I would like to see you push one element more than the other. Maybe the body is simple and clean and you turn the greenhouse into a complex crystal-like shape(or the opposite).
ReplyDeleteyou can research wedding rings for form inspiration
ReplyDeletelol
haha kin, yeah I have been researching gemstones and diamond forms... but I'm not going to put a million facets on the glass as it will be nearly impossible to see from the inside. Basically all the curvature on the body will be soft, but I get your point about simplifying, I only changed it up from last quarter because I found some material online that looked far too close to what I did at the end of Spring quarter
